Graham leads The Clerico as darkness ends round two early

TULSA, Okla. – Texas Tech men's golf sophomore Connor Graham leads The Clerico through the first day at 5-under-par. The Red Raiders sit in third place among a field of 12 teams at 2-over-par with several holes remaining on their back nine, as the second round at Southern Hills Country Club was called for darkness.

Graham fired a 3-under-par 67 in his opening round with two birdies and an eagle at the par-5 13th hole. He followed that up with a second round with birdies at the par-3 sixth hole and par-5 13th hole. He has no bogeys on the card so far and will finish holes 17 and 18 on Tuesday morning. The Blairgowrie, Scotland, native is in search of his first collegiate victory with 20 holes to play.

Just three shots off Graham's pace at 2-under-par and in fourth place is junior Adam Bresnu. The Odessa College transfer carded five birdies in his opening round to two bogeys on his way to a 3-under-par 67. Bresnu bounced back from three bogeys through his first 12 holes of his second round with two birdies down the stretch en route to a 1-over-par 71.

Still in the hunt at 2-over-par, junior Tim Wiedemeyer shot a 1-over-par 71 in the opening round. He is 1-over-par through 16 holes so far in his second round.
Golfers who were unable to complete their second round will resume play at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. The final round is anticipated to start at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start for all competitors. Weather could play a factor during Tuesday's round as Weather.com currently calls for thunderstorms in the morning, while overcast during the afternoon with occasional rain. Winds from the north at 5 to 10 mph are expected to increase to 15 to 25 mph. Overall, Tuesday calls for a 90 percent chance of rain in Tulsa, Okla.
