Popular ESPN pregame show will originate from the Texas Tech campus Saturday prior to the BYU game
LUBBOCK, Texas – Get ready, Lubbock. The crew from College Gameday is coming to our city.
ESPN announced Saturday night that the popular pregame show will originate from the Texas Tech campus next Saturday ahead of the highly-anticipated matchup between the 13th-ranked Red Raiders and No. 10 BYU. The three-hour show features host Rece Davis as well as Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban, Pat McAfee and others breaking down the nation's top matchups, including the one inside Jones AT&T Stadium, from 8-11 a.m. each Saturday.
This will be College Gameday's second trip all-time to Lubbock as the show was previously on hand exactly 17 year ago when Texas Tech knocked off No. 1 Texas in a memorable scene inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Longtime analyst Lee Corso put on the Raider Red mask that morning, firing off Texas Tech's customary shotguns in the process to signal what was to come later that night in an electronic environment.
More details regarding the College Gameday set and fan information will be announced later in the week. Because of Texas Tech's 11 a.m. start that morning against BYU, the show will conclude inside Jones AT&T Stadium with their Saturday Selections prior to kickoff.
Fans are encouraged to follow @TexasTechFB on each of its social media platforms for the latest details. Information will also be announced regularly on TexasTech.com and through the Texas Tech Mobile App.
Kickoff between Texas Tech and BYU is slated for 11 a.m. with television coverage provided on ABC.Â
