Red Raiders in the NFL | Regular Season Week 15, Dec. 11-Dec. 15
Â
LUBBOCK, Texas – Week 15 for Red Raiders in the NFL was overshadowed by the season-ending injury to Patrick Mahomes, which occurred during the Kansas City Chiefs' 16-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. The defeat also eliminated the Chiefs from playoff contention, snapping a streak of 10 consecutive postseason appearances — the second-longest run in NFL history. Gone with the postseason streak is the Chiefs' run of seven consecutive appearances in the AFC Championship Game — also the second-longest in league history.
A complete list of statistics by former Red Raiders in the NFL is below.
ARIZONA CARDINALSÂ at Houston Texans (L, 40-20)
S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (2019-23): Taylor-Demerson was listed on the Cardinals' inactive list for a fifth-straight game as he continues to rehab an ankle injury.
RB Tahj Brooks (2020-24):Â Brooks saw action on special teams as the primary kickoff returner, registering four returns for 90 yards with a long of 28.
OL Terence Steele (2016-19): Steele played each offensive snap as the Cowboys hosted the Vikings on Sunday Night Football. Â
QB Patrick Mahomes II (2014-16): With the loss to the Chargers, the Chiefs will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2014. In other unfortunate news, Patrick Mahomes will miss the remainder of the 2025 season after news confirmed that he tore his ACL during the fourth quarter of the contest against Los Angeles.
DE Tyree Wilson (2020-22): Wilson recorded six snaps on defense.
LB Jordyn Brooks (2016-19):Â Brooks registered a game-high 13 tackles (seven solo), including one sack for a loss of nine yards on Monday Night Football. He remains the NFL's leading tackler now with 155 stops. It's the third time in his six-year career that he's reached at least 150+ tackles in one season.
