Four Red Raiders invited to NFL Combine
February 13, 2025 | Football
LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech's Tahj Brooks, Jalin Conyers, Josh Kelly and Caleb Rogers were each announced on Thursday by the NFL as prospects invited to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. A total of 329 prospects were invited to attend this year's event, which will take place in Indianapolis from Feb. 24 through March 3.
Live coverage of the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine will begin Feb. 27 with the defensive linemen and linebackers. Defensive backs and tight ends (Conyers) will be featured Feb. 28, quarterbacks, wide receivers (Kelly) and running backs (Brooks) will then workout on March 1 and offensive linemen (Rogers) will conclude the event coverage on March 2.
This is the eighth consecutive year multiple Red Raiders have received combine invites, and it is the 10th straight where at least one Red Raider has been invited. The quartet in 2025 represents the most combine invites in a single year since having five invited in 2009, which included Michael Crabtree, Graham Harrell, Darcel McBath, Louis Vasquez and Brandon Williams.
In recent history, the 2023 season featured the highest-drafted defensive player in school history in Tyree Wilson as he was selected seventh overall by the Las Vegas Raiders during the opening night of the 2023 NFL Draft. Last season, two of the three Red Raiders invited to the 2024 combine were drafted in Dadrion Taylor-Demerson and Myles Cole while the third invited, Tyler Owens, was an undrafted free agent pick-up by the Washington Commanders who earned a roster spot its the active 53-man roster.
The 2025 invitees will aim to impress in Indianapolis seeking to extend at least one Red Raider selected within the first four rounds for the sixth-straight draft. Over the previous five drafts, in addition to Wilson in 2023, linebacker Jordyn Brooks was chosen late in the first round in 2020 to begin the streak, and then defensive back Zech McPhearson and wide receiver Erik Ezukanma were both picked in the fourth round of the 2021 and 2022 drafts, respectively, while Taylor-Demerson was most recently drafted in 2024 in the fourth round by the Arizona Cardinals.
Live coverage of the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, from Lucas Oil Stadium, will be available on NFL Network and NFL+ beginning Feb 27.
