Maupin, Shavers earn All-Big 12 recognition

LUBBOCK, Texas – For the second season in a row, juniors Bailey Maupin and Jasmine Shavers earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Shavers leads the Lady Raiders with 14.7 points per game, 50 steals, 150 field goals, 55 3-pointers, 457 points and with an 85 percent free throw percentage (102-for-120). Shooting 36.1 percent from the field (150-for-415), Shavers has made 55 threes in 172 attempts and is third on the team with 115 rebounds and second with 63 assists. Making 26 starts in 31 games played, Shavers has totaled a team-best 27 double-figure scoring games and seven games with three or more steals.
The Mesquite, Texas native has led the team in points 14 different times this year and is on a team-leading 13 game streak with at least one made three as well as ninth consecutive game with double-figure scoring. With four 20+ point games this year, Shavers put together a career performance against Missouri State on November 30, 2024 with 32 points on 10-for-17 shooting (.588) and 10-for-14 from the free throw line. Shavers also added a career-high of six 3-pointers in Tech's game against Cincinnati on February 19.
The only Lady Raider to start in all 31 games this season, Maupin ranks second on the team with 13.0 points per game and leads the Lady Raiders with eight 20+ point games this season, five of those coming in conference play. Totaling 22 games in double figures and five games with three or more steals this year, Maupin is second on the team with 130 field goals and 402 points, while leading the way with 68 assists and 105 free throws.
Shooting 78.9 percent from the free throw line and 38.8 percent from the field, Maupin also ranks second on the team with 37 3-pointers. The Gruver, Texas native had a career night against Houston in December – totaling 28 points on 10-for-18 shooting (.556) and 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. She has led the team in points 10 times so far and is currently on a five game streak with at least one made three while also scoring in double figures three consecutive games. Shavers and Maupin currently rank 18th and 21st in program history with 1,230 and 1,204 career points, respectively.
Texas Tech opens the Big 12 Championship on Wednesday as the 14-seed and will play 11-seed Kansas at 8 p.m. in the T-Mobile Center.
