NiJaree Canady earns D1Softball National Pitcher of the Week honors after a steallar weekend
LUBBOCK, Texas – NiJaree Canady was named D1Softball's National Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday following an exceptional weekend in Lawrence against the Jayhawks.
Canady tossed a no-hitter in the first game against Kansas and then tied her season high for strikeouts with 14 in her second outing.
The reigning National Player of the Year threw 12.0 innings, struck out 26 batters and allowed just three hits and one run.
Tech will be back in Lubbock for three of its next four series starting with Utah this weekend.
