LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech will kick off its Homecoming game against Kansas at 6:30 p.m. on Oct 11 with coverage provided nationally on FOX, the Big 12 Conference announced Monday as part its 12-day television selections.
This will be the third time this season and the second time in as many weeks the Red Raiders will appear in a primetime window after opening the season with a similar 6:30 p.m. kick against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Texas Tech (4-0; 1-0) will travel to Houston this Saturday for a 6 p.m. start on ESPN.
Texas Tech has already announced an advanced sellout for the Kansas game, one of five already on the docket for the Red Raiders this season. Fans still looking to purchase tickets for the Homecoming tilt are encouraged to do so via SeatGeek, the official secondary ticket provider of Texas Tech Athletics.
It will be the 26th all-time meeting between the Red Raiders and Jayhawks and the first inside Jones AT&T Stadium since Texas Tech delivered a 43-28 victory late in the 2022 season. The Red Raiders are 23-2 all-time against the Jayhawks as Texas Tech has won each of the past four games and 16 of the past 17 meetings overall.
Kansas is currently 3-2 this season heading into a 6:30 p.m. kick this Saturday at UCF. The Jayhawks are coming off a last-minute loss to Cincinnati this past weekend, dropping Kansas to 1-1 in Big 12 play. Kansas previously opened its conference slate with a 41-10 victory over West Virginia.
Additional kick times for Texas Tech's remaining Big 12 schedule will be announced on a 12 or six-day basis the rest of the season, following selections by the conference's television partners in ESPN, FOX, and TNT Sports.
