Grizzle named Defensive Player of the Week for the second time
LUBBOCK, Texas – For the second time this season, Texas Tech's Sierra Grizzle was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week. Grizzle was posted back-to-back 20-dig performances against No. 20 Baylor and Houston last week and is currently the Big 12 leader in digs per set (4.78) and total digs (277).
The junior libero spent two seasons at Wyoming before becoming a Red Raider and she has settled in nicely. Along with her backline defense, Grizzle also leads the team in aces with 16 and eclipsed 1,000 digs for her career against Albany on September 19.
Grizzle is now the first Red Raider to win the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week award twice in one season since KJ Adams did it in 2021.
