Single-game tickets to go on sale Monday (Jan. 26)
LUBBOCK, Texas – For the 12th-consecutive season, Texas Tech Baseball season tickets are sold out, Texas Tech Athletics announced Friday.
As part of Friday's announcement Texas Tech Athletics also announced that single-game tickets for the entire 2026 season will go on sale on Monday (Jan. 26) at 8:30 a.m.
During the 2026 season, the Red Raiders will play a 32-game home slate that features a non-conference weekend against Big Ten foe Penn State (Mar. 6-8), exciting midweeks matchups against UTSA (Mar. 10-11) and Dallas Baptist (May 5) as well as home Big 12 series against Kansas (Mar. 13-15), West Virginia (Apr. 10-12) and Oklahoma State (Apr. 24-26).
Coach Tim Tadlock and the Red Raiders return a strong core from the 2025 squad including First Team All-Big 12 selection Logan Hughes and Second Team All-Big 12 honoree Robin Villeneuve.
The Big 12 regular season leader in home runs (19), Hughes was named a 2026 Preseason All-Big 12 selection by Perfect Game and was named the No. 5 overall prospect in the Big 12 Conference in the upcoming 2026 MLB Draft.
Hughes hit .327 in 2025, hitting the aforementioned 19 home runs and driving in 58 runs. Hughes hit 11 of his 19 homers during Big 12 play and drove in 30 of his 58 runs, hitting .376 in the Red Raiders 30 conference tilts.
Also returning for his second season with the Scarlett and Black, Villeneuve also shined in 2025, hitting a team-best .365 with 18 doubles, 12 home runs and 49 RBIs. Villeneuve led the Red Raiders in on-base percentage (.447) in 2025 and was the co-leader in OPS (1.108) with Hughes.
The returning duo will join a cast of transfers and high school newcomers that will look to form one of the Big 12s best lineups in 2026.
The group of newcomers includes JUCO All-American C Matt Quintanar (Blinn College), former JUCO All-American and Maryland transfer Hollis Porter, Blinn College standout Caden Ferraro as well as freshman Linkin Garcia.
The 2025 Region XIV South Hitter of the Year, Quintanar hit .411 for the Buccaneers with 23 doubles, 15 home runs and 60 RBIs. Quintanar recorded an OPS of 1.217, anchored by an impressive on-base percentage of .511. One of the toughest hitters in the country to strikeout, Quintanar whiffed just 23 times in 226 at-bats and recorded 48 free passes (40BBs, 8 HBPs). Quintanar had the fewest strikeouts of any Blinn player with at least 75 at-bats and led the Bucs in average, OPS and doubles. He was second on the squad in home runs to Ferraro.
A 2024 NJCAA First Team All-American, Porter transferred to Texas Tech after a strong 2025 season at Maryland where he hit .303 for the Terps and launched 21 home runs, 13 doubles and drove in 64 runs.
Porter's 21 homers ranked third in the Big 10 in 2025 while his 64 RBIs ranked fifth. In total, 10 of the lefties 21 home runs were in Big 10 play with 31 of his RBIs coming against conference foes.
At Pearl River, Porter hit .399 with a MACCC leading 20 home runs, 21 doubles and 73 runs driven in. Porter's 20 longballs were a Pearl River CC program record as the slugger was named MACCC Player of the Year and a First Team NJCAA All-American.
The Red Raiders second big-time addition from Blinn, Ferraro, arrives in Lubbock after a decorated two-year run where he led the Bucs to the 2024 JUCO World Series title (the first in Blinn history) and was a two-team First Team All-Region selection.
Ferraro played in 120 career games at the JUCO level, hitting .376 with 36 home runs and 156 RBIs. Ferraro launched 18 homers in both of his seasons at Blinn and recorded an 82 RBI season in 2024 before driving in 74 runs in 2025.
Like Quintanar, Ferraro also recorded an impressive strikeout-to-walk ratio, as the slugger walked 97 times and struck out just 78 times. Ferraro recorded 72 career extra-base hits at Blinn (36 home runs, 35 doubles and a pair of triples) and hit into just one career double play. Â
A top-100 player in the Class of 2025, Garcia, comes to Tech after decorated 2025 prep season that saw the infielder hit .513 with six home runs and 48 RBIs. Garcia led A3 Academy to the PG Academies title and was named the events MVP. Earlier this month, Garcia was tabbed one of the 25 "Best Freshman" in the country by Baseball America and was included on PGs Top-100 Freshmen list.
Tech Baseball opens the regular season on Friday, Feb.13 at 11 a.m. with the first of three games at the 2026 Shriners College Baseball Showdown. The Red Raiders return home on Friday, Feb. 20 with the home opener against Albany. First pitch from Rip Griffin Park is set for 2 p.m.
