Red Raiders sweep weekly Big 12 XC awards

Only one regular season meet is left on the schedule โ the Arturo Barrios Invite in College Station
IRVING, Texas โ Titus Kimaru and Lily Mather were named the Big 12 Cross Country Runners of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. Kimaru wins the award for the third time this season and sixth overall in his career, while Mather takes home her first weekly honor and the first on the Tech women's side since Juliet Cherubet in 2024.
Both Red Raiders won their respective races this past weekend at the Nike XC Town Twilight. The women's team kicked off first as Mather crossed the end line with a 6k time of 20:29.3, winning her race by six tenths of a second down the final stretch. She now has two wins this season, both coming in consecutive meets.
Kimaru on the other hand, won his race by a one minute and five second margin. His 8k time clocked in at 23:53.5 as he's now 4-for-4 this season. Kimaru is one shy of the most career selections, a record held by Red Raider great, Kennedy Kithuka, who won the weekly honor seven times during his 2010-13 running career.
