Collins scores career-high, No. 21 Tech defeats No. 12 TCU

LUBBOCK, Texas – Senior Snudda Collins tied her career-high with 28 points to propel the No. 21 Texas Tech Lady Raiders to a 62-60 win over the No. 12 TCU Horned Frogs on Sunday afternoon at the United Supermarkets Arena.

For Texas Tech (21-3, 8-3 Big 12), Collins posted her second game in the last three contests with 28 points, tying her career high. She shot 9-for-20 from the field (.450) and 3-for-6 from behind the arc (.500) to lead the way for the Lady Raiders. In addition, Collins added five rebounds and seven free throws in the win over TCU (20-3, 8-2 Big 12). The Brookhaven, Miss., native now ties for the team lead with 21 double-digit scoring games and leads the way with four 20+ point games.

Sidney Love posted her second-straight double-figure scoring game with 10 points on 50 percent shooting from the field (4-for-8) and from the three (2-for-4). Leading the Lady Raiders on the boards was Jada Malone, who totaled nine rebounds, including six on the offensive side. The Lady Raiders recorded their fourth-straight game with nine 3-pointers made as well as fifth in the last six games with nine triples, going 37.5 percent from three (9-for-24). Texas Tech also outrebounded the Horned Frogs by 12 after tallying 46 boards, with 15 offensive rebounds.

This win marks Tech's second top-15 victory this year as the Lady Raiders beat No. 15-ranked Baylor on Dec. 21, 2025. This is the first win for Texas Tech in the month of February since Feb. 5, 2023 when the Lady Raiders defeated Kansas State by a 78-68 score that year. In addition, the last time the Scarlet & Black totaled at least eight wins in Big 12 play was in the 2012-13 season.

TCU started the scoring with a layup, before the Lady Raiders tied it up with a layup from Malone. TCU went up 6-2, but Tech answered with a three from Jalynn Bristow. The Horned Frogs went on a 5-0 run after that to take an 11-5 lead with 4:55 left. The Lady Raiders responded with a 7-0 run thanks to a three from Collins, two free throws by Bailey Maupin and a second-chance layup from Love. TCU connected with a three with four seconds left in the period to take a slim, 14-12 lead after one.

Love closed the gap with a triple, then Maupin made one of her own for the 20-20 score. TCU scored a layup before Gemma Núñez got one to tie it again. The Horned Frogs made a layup to retake the lead at 24-22, holding on to that at the end of the period.

Both teams traded points until Collins made two more free throws to make it 31-30. TCU would score six of the next eight points for a three-point advantage. The Horned Frogs scored once more, and the Lady Raiders got a free throw from Bristow, to end the period with a 40-36 lead for TCU.

TCU followed with a corner three at the 57 second mark, but Collins was locked in – answering with a three to give Tech back a 3-point lead. TCU tried to fight back, but the Lady Raiders made free throws to hold them off and win it by a 62-60 score.
