Boyce, Colbert earn Athlete of the Week honors

The duo will head to Austin this week for the 98th Texas Relays
IRVING, Texas – Texas Tech sprinters Desean Boyce and Alyssa Colbert were named the Big 12 Athletes of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon. The weekly outdoor honor is the first of their respective careers.
Boyce kicked off his outdoor season with a winning time of 45.32 in the 400m. The time leads the Big 12 and is second in the NCAA. This weekend at the Texas Relays, Boyce is slated to go only on the 4x400 relay.
Colbert, following a one-year absence due to a hamstring injury, won the 100m dash with a wind-aided (3.1) time of 10.99, which sits atop the NCAA. This weekend, Colbert will only run on Tech's 4x100 team.
