Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't know the exact number of people coming?
- Please be as precise as possible when registering. We know that registering so far in advance does leave the window open for drops and add-ons. You will have time closer to the event to give us your final number.
Who should be our point of contact for our school?
- This contact will be receiving important information from Texas Tech regarding Education Day. We recommend this person be a full time employee. (I.E. Teacher, Counselor, Vice Principal, etc.)
What if I need to change the number after I have submitted?
- Contact Will Shoaf with the Promotions & Fan Engagement Department at will.shoaf@ttu.edu.
What if parents want to attend the game but not as chaperones?
- Parents are more than welcome to attend the game, however, seating with their child's school is not guaranteed. We will have specific sections in the arena open for general fans and season ticket holders.
Can my student buy lunch at the game?
- Students are welcome to purchase concession stand items throughout the game.Â
Do we have to pay for parking the bus?
- There will be areas to park your bus for free. You will receive information from Texas Tech regarding these areas and directions for how to get there.
How much does this event cost?
- This is a free event for all schools. We ask that schools register online in advance to guarantee their seating. The only cost schools will have to cover is busses and/or personal transportation.
What if my child is homeschooled but wants to attend the game?
- All students 8th grade and younger are welcome to attend! Please contact Will Shoaf (will.shoaf@ttu.edu or (806) 834-4459) with the numbers of students and chaperones wanting to attend to receive information for parking and arena seating.
Can we take a tour of the Texas Tech University campus after the game?
- Unfortunately, Texas Tech University is not offering scheduled campus tours the afternoon of December 17th. Schools are welcome to walk around campus on their own following dismissal from the game. Please note that schools will be responsible for their own students, teachers, chaperones, etc. if they elect to take a self-guided tour of campus. Â Â Â
