Pursuant to an agreement between the Student Government Association and the Athletic Department, this fee is only charged during the fall and spring terms and only to students enrolled in courses at the Lubbock campus. Students who receive certain exemptions that waive this fee may elect to pay it through Student Business Services in order to gain access to these events.
Each Texas Tech student on the Lubbock campus, including all undergraduate, graduate, law, and medical students enrolled in at least one or more hours, with the exception of grad students who have had their athletic fee waived, has the athletics fee automatically applied to tuition and fees at the rate of $15.30 per semester credit hour, capped at $61.20 per term. This enables access to all Tech sporting events.
Distance Education students or students who have had the athletic fee waived and wish to add the fee can complete the “Elect to Pay Application” online under the Student Business Services section of the MyTech tab in Raiderlink.
Each student at any satellite campus, including Amarillo, El Paso, Junction, and others, along with students in the School of Veterinary Medicine, has had the fee waived from tuition because they live outside of Lubbock. Students at these campuses who wish to add the fee can complete the “Elect to Pay Application” online under the Student Business Services section of the MyTech tab in Raiderlink.
