Welcome to the 2018 Red Raider Classic, hosted by Texas Tech University. The Red Raider Volleyball program will host a two-day tournament Aug. 24-25 at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas. The complete event schedule, results and pertinent links will be included on this page.
To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite guest entry into our venues, Texas Tech Athletics began implementing a CLEAR BAG POLICY for all ticketed athletic events in 2016-17. UNITED SUPERMARKETS ARENAÂ | Website
With generous support from individual and corporate donations, the United Spirit Arena opened on November 19, 1999. United Supermarkets, LLC, was a major donor and earned naming rights for the 15,000-seat multipurpose facility. It is referred to as the Entertainment Showcase of West Texas, hosting three sports for Texas Tech and bringing world-class entertainment to the South Plains region.
In 2014, United renewed their naming rights for the facility, at the same time changing the name to United Supermarkets Arena.
The USA has hosted a wide array of events including such headline acts as Elton John, George Strait, Cher, Aerosmith, the Eagles, Carrie Underwood, Pearl Jam, James Taylor, KISS, Shania Twain, Kelly Clarkson, and Rod Stewart. Motivational speakers such as John McCain and former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor have been hosted in recent years at the venue.
DIRECTIONS TO UNITED SUPERMARKETS ARENA
United Supermarkets Arena is located on the campus of Texas Tech University at 18th Street and Indiana Avenue. The facility is adjacent to the Texas Tech Rec Center and Urbanovsky Park, and includes ample parking directly to the north and west.Â
If driving north on Indiana, fans can access the arena by crossing 19th Street onto Texas Tech Parkway, and then turning northeast (right) at the first intersection back onto Indiana Avenue. Fans can access the arena from the Marsha Sharpe Freeway by exiting Texas Tech Parkway and turning south (left). Drive southeast through the first light at Knoxville Ave. and then turn northeast (left) at Indiana Ave.
Take I-27 South from Regis Street and exit west on the Marsha Sharp Freeway (4th Street). Take the Texas Tech Parkway exit and turn south (left). Drive southeast through the first light at Knoxville Ave. and then turn northeast (left) at Indiana Ave. The Arena will be forward on the right side.
