Gentry Hicks enters her third season as a full-time member of the Texas Tech sports nutrition staff and her first as the Director of Football Nutrition.
In her role, Hicks oversees the nutritional needs for more than 100 football student-athletes, planning out team meals while assisting with in-game and practice fueling. Additionally, Hicks helps guide each Red Raider during the offseason to target weights through proper nutrition and education.
Hicks is no stranger around the football program as she previously served as a fueling station intern for the 2019-20 seasons as an undergraduate student. She rejoined the program as a master’s dietetic intern prior to the 2022 football season before being named an assistant football dietitian for the 2023-24 seasons.
Hicks, a Lubbock native, has two degrees from Texas Tech University, earning a bachelor’s in nutritional sciences and dietetics in 2020 before adding a master’s of science in nutrition and dietetics with a concentration in sports dietetics in 2022.
