Jacob Chavarria enters his fourth season as a full-time member of the Texas Tech video staff and his third in the role of video coordinator.
Chavarria is no stranger to the Texas Tech video staff as he was a student assistant from 2018-21 before being hired as a post-grad intern prior to the 2022 season. He was promoted to his current role ahead of the 2023 season.
In his role, Chavarria assists Director of Football Video Eric Gerald in overseeing all the video needs for the Red Raider coaching staff, namely the filming and editing of practice and game film. Through its partnership with Catapult, Chavarria and the Red Raider video staff are able to ensure video breakdowns are available shortly after each practice and game.
Chavarria, a native of nearby Floydada, earned his bachelor’s degree in creative media industries from Texas Tech in 2022 and added his master’s in mass communications following the 2024 spring semester.
