Wesley Harwell
- Title:
- Assistant Director of Scouting
Wesley Harwell enters his second season as a member of the Texas Tech personnel staff where he serves as an associate director for scouting.
In his role, Harwell assists with all areas of Texas Tech’s recruiting operation, namely in the identifying of potential student-athletes with general manager James Blanchard and Texas Tech’s personnel department. Harwell and Director of Scouting Sean Kenney pour over hours of film weekly, assisting Blanchard and Director of Player Personnel Brian Nance in the early stages of the recruiting process.
Harwell was part of Texas Tech’s year-long process to identify potential offseason additions, which led to the Red Raiders boasting the nation’s top transfer class. The process brought rave reviews with On3.com calling it the best portal class in the country and 247Sports ranking the class of 20 transfers at No. 2 nationally.
This is Harwell’s first full-time position as he was previously a recruiting assistant at Nebraska during the 2023 season. The Huskers, who share many ties to the Texas Tech coaching staff, ranked as high as No. 16 nationally for the 2024 recruiting class.
A native of Waco, Texas, Harwell graduated from Bosqueville High School before later earning his bachelor’s degree in university studies from Texas Tech.
