Shelby Pendley

Shelby Pendley was named to the softball coaching staff as an assistant on July 27, 2026.
Pendley joins Texas Tech after coaching stints at New Mexico, Jackson State and Belhaven. Before that, Pendley was a standout player for Oklahoma from 2013-15 where she was named the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2013 and 2015 and helped the Sooners win a national championship in 2013. She was also a top 10 finalist for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, First Team All-Big 12 from 2013-15 and was First Team All-Pac 12 in 2012 during her one year at Arizona. She ended her career top 10 in NCAA history in home runs (84) and RBI (269) while playing shortstop for the Sooners. While with the Sooners, Pendley was also named an NFCA All-American three times and NFCA All-Region member three times.
Before coaching, Pendley played pro ball for the USSSA Pride and was coached by Gerry Glasco for a season in 2018. She won a gold medal for USA Softball in the international cup in 2019 and in that same year won a gold medal in the Japan World Cup.
Pendley joined the New Mexico staff right out of college before becoming the associate head coach at Jackson State from 2021-23 and then spent a year at Belhaven. Since then, she has been the director of the All-Ripken Games which is a showcase event for youth baseball and softball teams and players to compete across eight different venues and locations.
