Chris Duarte joined the Texas Tech Athletics Communications staff in September of 2021 as an Assistant Director before being promoted to Associate Director in the Fall of 2023.

Prior to joining Tech Athletics, Duarte served as the Athletics Communications Assistant for Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) from February 2018 until his departure in August of 2021. During his time at FGCU, he served as the primary sport contact for men's soccer, cross country, softball and women's tennis. While in Fort Myers, Fla., Duarte also spent his time as the Volunteer Translator for the Minnesota Twins Low A minor league affiliate, the Mighty Mussels.

Before joining FGCU, Duarte served as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant for Eastern Oregon Athletics. There, he was the primary media contact for a numerous amount of teams, including serving as the Interim Sports Information Director from April-July 2017.

A Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native, Duarte received his undergraduate degree in Business Management from FGCU in the Spring of 2016, before obtaining his MBA in the Winter of 2017 from EOU.
