Casey Perrin enters his first season as the Texas Tech men’s basketball Chief of Staff after working for the Red Raiders and head coach Chris Beard for four years as a graduate manager.
Perrin, who played four years at Campbell University, has been an important part of the Red Raider success during Beard’s tenure that includes advancing to the 2018 Elite Eight, winning the 2019 Big 12 Championship, reaching the Final Four and NCAA National Championship Final for the first time in program history and helping with the development of two first-round NBA selections and multiple players who have signed professional contracts.
A Riverside, California native who earned Big South Presidential Honor Roll honors at Campbell, he arrived in Lubbock after earning his bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education and has earned his master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Tech. Perrin has worked in multiple roles as a graduate manager for Beard and the coaching staff, including helping with the development of Zhaire Smith and Jarrett Culver who became NBA selections.
Perrin earned All-State honors as a senior at Cactus Shadows High School (Arizona) after averaging 16 points and six assists per game. He also was named all-region and all-conference during that season before attending Maine Central Institute. He would average 8.5 points and 4.5 assists during his prep career before playing at Campbell.
