LUBBOCK, Texas - Jamie Vannoy turned in rounds of 75 and 77 on Monday to tie for fourth place overall and put Texas Tech in fourth place in the Jeannine McHaney Memorial at the Lubbock Country Club. Tech was tied atop the board with Nebraska following the first round, but dropped nine strokes in the second.
The final round of the tournament will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Melanie Hunt and Alana Soliz, playing as individuals, were in a tie for second and sixth places, respectively. Hunt shot rounds of 73 and 78, while Soliz improved on her first round total of 78 with a 75 in the second.
Oklahoma (618) is the overall team leader and is two shots better than second-place Nebraska (620). Texas-El Paso (622), Texas Tech (623) and Colorado State (625) round out the top five. UTEP?s Linda Chen is the overall lead by four strokes (147).
Rounding out the scoring for Texas Tech are Stephanie Dukes (T20, 157), Heather Wrede (T24, 158), Jennifer Newhouse (T30, 159) and Priscillia Hunt (T46, 163). Allison Louth is Tech?s third individual in the tournament. She is in 65th place with a 172.
