Texas Tech Volleyball Defeats TCU 3-0

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball squad continued its hot streak as it registered a 15-6, 15-6, 15-5 victory Sunday against WAC rival TCU at Lubbock's Coronado High School. The win improves Texas Tech to 13-8 overall while TCU drops to 6-12 overall. The Red Raiders are on a two-match winning streak following their 3-0 victory last night at Oklahoma.
Texas Tech used .302 hitting (40-14-86), 37 team digs and grabbed early leads in each of the three games en route to their victory in 57 minutes.
Freshman Ann Romjue led Texas Tech with match-highs of 10 kills and 10 digs. Junior Colleen Smith hit .571 with nine kills in 14 attempts and freshman Jenny Donohoo notched seven kills in 13 attempts (.308 hitting). Junior Janelle Jones also had a hot hand with six kills in eight attempts.
TCU was held to just .050 hitting (19-15-80) and 27 digs. The Horned Frogs outblocked Texas Tech 8-5 and were led by Allison Lynch's six kills.
Texas Tech is next in action on Wednesday against Texas at 7:30 p.m. in Lubbock's Coronado High School.
