Hunt Leads Roadrunner Invitational After First Round

LUBBOCK, Texas - Priscillia Hunt (Phoenix, Ariz. / Horizon) shot an opening-round 2-under par 70 to finish atop the leaderboard following the first round of the Roadrunner Invitational at the University Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M., Monday afternoon.
The Red Raiders are third overall as a team after shooting 297. Tech trails Washington (294) and host New Mexico State (296). Rounding out the top five are New Mexico (301) and Oklahoma State (303). A total of seven Big 12 schools are participating in the event. In addition to Texas Tech and Oklahoma State, Oklahoma (6th), Missouri (7th), Texas A&M (8th), Baylor (9th), Kansas State (13th) and Colorado (t17th) are competing.
Melanie Hunt and Jennifer Newhouse are tied at 16th after each shot 75. Jamie Vannoy posted a 77 and is tied in 33rd place, while Heather Wrede is in 65th place with an 81.
The second round of the three-round event is scheduled to tee off at 7:30 a.m. (CST) Tuesday.
