COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Texas A&M used a 26-5 run in the second half to pull away for a 68-47 victory Wednesday night over Texas Tech behind the inside scoring of Shanne Jones and the 3-pointers of Chris Clayton.
The victory was the second straight for the Aggies (9-8, 2-5 Big 12) and was their biggest win over a Texas Tech team since a 23-point margin in 1981.
Jones led the Aggies with 18 points. Clayton, making 4 of 7 3-pointers, added 14 points and Aaron Jack scored 10.
James Ware, with 12 points, led the Red Raiders (10-10, 2-5), who dropped their third straight game. Ware made 4 of 8 3-pointers. Rayford Young added 11 points for the Raiders.
Texas Tech stayed close until the Aggies began to pull away midway through the second half. Jack's 3-point play erased the Raiders' only lead of 38-37, and Texas A&M then hit five unanswered points after two missed free throws by Tech's Jayson Mitchell.
The Aggies led 47-41 before a 16-2 spurt over a 5:40 span opened a 20-point lead.
