TCU will enter Saturday's match with a record of 3-2. They are led by No. 1 player Esteban Carril who was ranked No. 5 nationally in the last rankings poll. Carril will look to rebound against Texas Tech after having dropped his match to Christian Jaeger of UTA 6-2, 6-4.
UTA has a mark of 2-3 on the 1999 season. With the upset victory over TCU, the Mavericks will look to continue their momentum with Sunday's match.
