Big 12 Championships Up Next For Women's Golf

The 44th-ranked Texas Tech women's golf team will compete in the Big 12 Championship Golf Tournament in Boulder, Colorado on April 19-21. The tournament is being held at the par 72, 6309 yard Boulder Country Club.
Seven of the 12 teams in the field are ranked in the nation's Top 50. Oklahoma State is highest rated squad, coming in with a No. 7 national ranking. Texas is ranked No. 12 nationally. Other ranked teams include Missouri (38th), Texas A&M (41st), Texas Tech (44th), Baylor (46th) and Nebraska (50th). Colorado is the host school for the event.
Tech is coming off a fourth place finish at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman, Oklahoma. Leading the Red Raiders in that tournament was Brooke Lowrance, who finished in a tie for 14th place. Also finishing in the top 20 individually was Jamie Vannoy and Heather Wrede, who tied for 18th.
Competing for Texas Tech at the Big 12 Tournament will be Lowrance, Vannoy, Wrede, Beth Covington and Jennifer Newhouse.
Lowrance has led the squad so far this year with a 77.2 stroke average and has two top 10 finishes. Vannoy is right on her heals with a stroke average of 77.3. Vannoy also boasts three top 10 finishes.
The Big 12 Women's Golf Championship is scheduled for 54 holes, with 18 holes being played on each day of three-day tournament.
