LUBBOCK, Texas - Former Texas Tech University women's golfer Stacey Kolb Totman has been named assistant golf coach, Director of Golf Jeff Mitchell announced today.
Totman was a two-time All-Southwest Conference golfer for the Red Raiders. She earned All-SWC honors in 1994 and again in 1995. In her two seasons at Texas Tech, Totman helped the Red Raiders post their two best team finishes ever in conference championships.
In 1994, Totman was fourth in the SWC Championships, earning all-tournament honors while helping Texas Tech finish second. She was fifth in the conference tournament a year later in 1995, leading Tech to a third-place finish in the SWC.
"Stacey is a very outgoing and ambitious lady," Mitchell said. "She will do an excellent job here at Texas Tech."
As a senior, Totman was medalist at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational and was Tech's low golfer in eight of the team's nine tournaments. She was selected to compete in the 1995 NCAA West Regional as an individual and finished in a tie for 37th with rounds of 74-77-77=228.
Totman, who has been a member of the FUTURES Women's Golf Tour, transferred to Texas Tech after earning All-Big 10 Conference honors at Minnesota in 1993. She played in NCAA Regional action for three consecutive seasons, twice while at Texas Tech. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native is married to former Texas Tech baseball player Jason Totman.
