Texas Tech Track and Field Competes at Penn Relays

LUBBOCK, Texas - Members of the Texas Tech men's and women's track and field teams will look to qualify for the upcoming NCAA outdoor championships when they compete at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Penn. this weekend. They will race in qualifying and final round action on Thursday through Sunday.
Scheduled to compete are Leigh Daniel in the women's 5000 meters and the men's and women's 4X100 and 4X400 relay team.
Daniel, who was the NCAA indoor champion in the 5,000 meters, will race on Thursday. She is expected to have an excellent chance to win the event, as well as, qualifying for the championships.
The women's 4X100 relay team will compete on Friday. The women's 4X400 relay will race on Saturday along with the men's 4X100 and 4X400 relay teams.
"The Penn Relays is one of the most exciting events in collegiate track and field," Director of Track and Field Greg Sholars said. "It brings together some of the nation's best competition. This will be a great chance for Leigh Daniel and our relay teams to post NCAA qualifying times."
