BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - The Texas Tech women's golf team finished in 15th place after the final round of the LSU-Fairwood Invitational on Sunday. The Red Raiders shot a two-round total of 668. Duke University won the event with a total of 620.
Lightning and heavy rains washed out the second round of the play on Saturday forcing officials to reduce the tournament to two rounds.
The top Tech finisher was junior Jamie Vannoy who shot a 17-over-par 161 (76-85), good for a tie at 26th place. Freshman Jennifer Newhouse was second among the Red Raiders with a 79-87=166. Senior All-American candidate Brooke Lowrance finished 69th after shooting 87-83=170. Priscilla Hunt shot 86-87=173 and Julie McMayon 90-85=175.
Anna Jonsson of Texas A&M won the tournament shooting a one-over-par 145 (74-71), defeating runner-up Robin Cook of Auburn by four strokes.
