
Women's Golf Finishes Sixth At Big 12 Fall Preview

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team finished sixth at the Big 12 Fall Preview in Waco, Texas held Oct. 2-3.
Sophomore Melanie Hunt finished first after an even-par effort.
The Red Raiders shot a combined score of 910 on the par 72, 5,991 yard Ridgewood Country Club. Hunt shot a 73 in the final round tying her for first place. On the first hole of the sudden-death playoff, Hunt shot par on the par 4 to win outright. Hunt shot her career best during the second round of play Monday with a 71.
Junior Jennifer Newhouse shot 73-78-79=230, tying her for 21st, while sophomore Stephanie Dukes shot 80-77-74=231, tying her for 26th. Senior Priscillia Hunt shot 75-81-78=234, tying her for 33rd, while freshman Jackie Ey shot 85-81-78=244, tying her for 52nd.
Oklahoma won the tournament with a combined score of 895. Texas Tech will play next in the Stanford Intercollegiate October 20-24.
