LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head softball coach Bobby Reeves announced the signing of Kristina Blair, a 6-0 pitcher from Petaluma, Calif., on Tuesday afternoon.
Blair signed her national letter of intent this past weekend on her visit to Texas Tech.
Blair earned First Team All-Sonoma County honors last season, posting a 1.16 earned run average. She also plays first base and batted .278 in 2000.
"She is a very strong pitcher who already throws 65 mph," Reeves said. "We believe she can come in and keep us competitive in the Big 12. We look for great things out of her. She is a big plus for our program."
The Red Raiders open their 2001 season February 3 at home with a doubleheader versus New Mexico State.
