COLUMBIA, Mo - The Texas Tech volleyball team suffered a three-game setback at the hands of No. 24 Missouri before 1,484 Tiger fans at the Hearnes Center in Columbia.
Texas Tech dropped the match 12-15, 10-15, 11-15 marking just the second time this season that Texas Tech has lost in three games. With the loss, Texas Tech falls to 20-6 and 8-6 in the Big 12.
"I just don't think we ever really got things going tonight," said Tech head coach Jeff Nelson. "I thought the girls played really hard but we just weren't able to do the little things that have helped us get where we are."
Leading the way for Texas Tech was senior outside hitter Colleen Smith who tallied 18 kills and four errors on 46 attacks for a hitting percentage of .304.
Texas Tech will return home to face Kansas on Wednesday evening at United Spirit Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
