Malone Opts to Leave Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas - Moses Malone, Jr. has asked for and been granted his release from Texas Tech University, men's basketball head coach James Dickey said.
"We appreciate what Moses has given to the program," Dickey said. "We wish him the best."
Malone played during the second half of the 1999-00 season after transferring to Texas Tech from the University of Houston. He has not played this season. Malone averaged 2.9 points and 1.8 rebounds per game last season for the Red Raiders.
