TEXAS TECH HEAD COACH JAMES DICKEY
Texas Tech Head Coach James Dickey is in his ninth season as the Red Raider mentor with a 155-100 overall record. Dickey has guided the Red Raiders to two NCAA Tournaments, including 1996's Sweet Sixteen appearance. Tech also has made a trip to the NIT under Dickey. He is third all-time at the University with 155 wins, trailing Gerald Myers (326 wins / 1971-91) and Polk Robison (254 wins / 1942-46, 47-61). The Red Raiders won the SWC regular-season title in 1995 and tied for the honor the following season. He became only the second coach in Texas Tech history to take a team through an undefeated conference season, when the Red Raiders finished 14-0 in the SWC in 1996. He also holds the distinction of the being the only coach in school history to record a 30-win season (1995-96). He is a two-time Southwest Conference Coach of the Year.
DICKEY VS. MISSOURI
Texas Tech is 2-1 against Missouri under head coach James Dickey. Tech won the first two meetings with the Tigers under Dickey's wing, but dropped last season's game.
MISSOURI HEAD COACH QUIN SNYDER
Quin Snyder is in his first season as head coach of the Missouri Tigers and has an inaugural 14-8 overall record and 7-3 mark in the Big 12. Snyder served as associated head for the past two seasons at his alma mater, Duke University, after serving in assistant coach and administrative assistant coaching roles for three years. He also served a one-year stint as an assistant with Los Angeles Clippers. Snyder was an Academic All-American for the Blue Devils following the 1989 season and participated in three Final Fours as a player. Snyder graduated from Duke in 1989.
LAST TIME VS. MISSOURI
Texas Tech was unable to overcome a combined 45 points from Albert White and Keyon Dooling as the Red Raiders dropped their fifth-straight game 88-63 at the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo. The Tigers jumped out to a 33-16 lead in the first half, however, the Red Raiders fought back to close the score to 43-34 at halftime. Texas Tech opened the second half on a 9-2 run as forward Cliff Owens scored field goals three-consecutive times down the court to tie the score at 45-45 with 16:52 remaining. That would be the closest the Red Raiders would get as Mizzou would steadily build a lead on 76.9 percent field goal shooting in the second period of play. Texas Tech struggled on the boards and was out-rebounded 37-24 and also turned the ball over 16 times to the Tigers' 12.
