REGULAR SEASON COMING TO A CLOSE
The Red Raiders have only three games remaining in the regular season. Following Saturday's game against Kansas State, Tech hosts Iowa State, before closing the regular season at Colorado.

The All Sports Radio Network will air all Red Raider games, beginning approximately 25 minutes prior to tip-off. The network carries nine affiliates across West Texas, including flagship station KKAM 1340 in Lubbock. Broadcasting veteran Jack Dale (play-by-play), in his 47th season, calls the action.
A LOOK AT THE RED RAIDERS
The Red Raiders struggled in their last outing, dropping a 93-65 decision at No. 20 Oklahoma. The 28-point margin is the largest for a Tech loss this season. Rayford Young continues to lead the team with 16.4 points per game, while Mario Layne and James Ware add 13.8 and 11.4 points, respectively. Brodney Kennard leads on the boards with 6.7 caroms per game and is ranked third in the Big 12 with 2.4 blocks per outing. Texas Tech is shooting 44.5 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from three and a Big 12-leading 71.2 percent from the foul line. Tech is trailing on boards by 2.8 rebounds per game and is knotted in scoring at 70.9 points per outing.
A LOOK AT KANSAS STATE
Kansas State broke an 11-game losing streak in its last outing against Texas A&M in Manhattan on Wednesday night. KSU opened the Big 12 schedule with a 97-79 win over Nebraska and dropped its next 11. Cortez Groves leads the team with 15.9 points per game, followed by Tony Kitt's 13.5 points. Kitt leads the team with 9.3 rebounds per game. The Wildcats are hitting 42.9 percent of their shots and have hit 36.6 percent from three. The team is scoring 68.6 points per game and yielding 74.5 points to the opposition.

TEXAS TECH HEAD COACH JAMES DICKEY
Texas Tech Head Coach James Dickey is in his ninth season as the Red Raider mentor with a 156-102 overall record. Dickey has guided the Red Raiders to two NCAA Tournaments, including 1996's Sweet Sixteen appearance. Tech also has made a trip to the NIT under Dickey. He is third all-time at the University with 156 wins, trailing Gerald Myers (326 wins / 1971-91) and Polk Robison (254 wins / 1942-46, 47-61). The Red Raiders won the SWC regular-season title in 1995 and tied for the honor the following season. He became only the second coach in Texas Tech history to take a team through an undefeated conference season, when the Red Raiders finished 14-0 in the SWC in 1996. He also holds the distinction of the being the only coach in school history to record a 30-win season (1995-96). He is a two-time Southwest Conference Coach of the Year.
DICKEY VS. KANSAS STATE
Texas Tech head coach James Dickey is 3-1 against the Wildcats as head coach of the Red Raiders. The lone loss came last season, an 82-63 defeat in Manhattan.
KANSAS STATE HEAD COACH TOM ASBURY
Tom Asbury is in his sixth season at Kansas State and has an 85-84 overall mark at the school. Over his 12-year head coaching career in the collegiate ranks, Asbury is 210-143. He got his head coach start at Pepperdine in 1989 and led the Waves to three NCAA Tournament and two NIT appearances in six seasons. At KSU, he has guided the Wildcat program to one NCAA and two NIT tournaments. He also is a two-time West Coast Conference Coach of the Year.
SERIES VS. KANSAS STATE
Kansas State leads the all-time series 8-4, dating back to Dec. 6, 1955, when the two teams first met. Three of Tech's four wins have all come in Big 12 play.

SEEING TRIPLE
James Ware and Rayford Young have combined for 99 of Tech's 138 three-point baskets this season. Ware leads the team with 58 made threes, followed by Young's 41.
YOUNG ASCENDING SCORING LIST
Rayford Young is currently 13th on the all-time scoring list at Texas Tech. He has 1,409 career points in 103 games. He trails Dub Malaise in 12th place by 11 points. Young began the season in 24th place.
PICTURE PERFECT
After struggling through a 1-of-5 field goal performance in the first half at Oklahoma, Mario Layne nailed his first seven shots of the second half and finished the frame 8-of-9. He led the Red Raiders with 25 points, 22 coming in the second half.
KENNARD MOVES IN ON BLOCKS RECORD
Senior forward Brodney Kennard is quickly moving up the blocking charts at Texas Tech. He has 58 rejections this season, which ranks second on the single-season blocks list behind Tony Battie (68). Kennard ranks fifth all-time at Tech with 95 swats. He blocked five shots for the second time in his career against Missouri. He has only two games this season where he didn't record a block.
MARATHON MEN
Three Red Raiders are averaging over 30 minutes per game this season - all starters. Rayford Young leads the pack with 36 minutes per game, followed by James Ware (32.5), Brodney Kennard (31.6) and Mario Layne (30.1). Before he went down with a season-ending injury, Andy Ellis was logging 33.8.
HOBBS IMPRESSES IN STARTING DEBUT
Freshman guard Ronald Hobbs got his first collegiate start and made the most of his afternoon at Texas A&M on Saturday. The Fort Worth native turned in career highs in scoring (22), rebounds (8) and minutes (37). He also played all 20 minutes of the second half.

MARKED IMPROVEMENT
Senior forward Mario Layne has nearly double his production from last season. Included in this season's highlights is a career-high 32-point effort against Prairie View A&M. He also dished out six assists against Baylor.

ATTENDANCE RECORDS
Texas Tech's sellout crowd of 15,050 against Indiana at the inaugural game in the United Spirit Arena marked the largest home crowd in school history to witness a Red Raider basketball game. The A&M game crowd of 14,324 is the second largest, while the Texas game drew 14,045. Oklahoma drew 10,624.
