Young Named to All-District Squad

LUBBOCK, Texas - The National Association of Basketball Coaches has named Texas Tech senior guard Rayford Young to its District 9 First Team. Young is one of three athletes from the Big 12 Conference named to the team.
"Rayford has been outstanding for us and he is very deserving of this honor," Texas Tech men's basketball coach James Dickey said. "I'm happy for Rayford and his family."
Young leads Texas Tech with 17.5 points per game and ranks 11th all-time at Tech with 1,470 career points. He also is only the third player in school history to record 1, 000 points and 400 assists in a career.
Young joins Chris Mihm (Texas), Jeryl Sasser (SMU), Gabe Muoneke (Texas) and Gee Gervin (Houston) on the team.
