4X400 teams qualify for finals at Texas Relays

Texas Tech's men's 4x400 relay team ran a time of 3:10.37 in Friday's prelims at the Texas Relays to qualify for the finals to be run Saturday afternoon.
The team ran the sixth fastest time in the preliminary round and finished just behind Hampton University (3:10.25) in the second heat of the morning.
The Red Raider women's 4x400 relay team also earned a spot in Saturday's final round. The women finished in 3:40.58, the ninth fastest time in the preliminary round. Texas Tech edged out Tulsa (3:41.96) for the last position in the finals heat. The Red Raiders took third place in a fast heat which included top qualifier Texas (3:35.33) and Miami (3:39.09), which qualified for the seventh position in the finals.
Monique Wright-Cruse narrowly missed qualifying for finals in the 100-meter dash. Wright-Cruse ran a time of 11.63 in the preliminary round, but was just off the round's ninth fastest time of 11.59, run by Mississippi State's Camille Harper. Sherri Coleman also came close to a finals appearance in the 100 meter-dash with a time of 11.77 in the event. Both Wright-Cruse (11) and Coleman (T19) had top 20 efforts in the preliminary round.
