Women's Golf Ends Season at NCAA West Regional

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech closed its season Saturday at the NCAA West Regional in Tempe, Ariz., finishing in an 18th-place tie in the 24-team field. The top 13 teams from the event earned a spot at the NCAA Championships in Sunriver, Ore., in two weeks.
The Red Raiders tied with Baylor in the 18th spot and finished ahead of BYU, New Mexico, California, Washington State and Oregon State. Arizona, ranked No. 1 nationally, won the event by five strokes over second-place San Jose State.
Stephanie Dukes (N. Richland Hills, Texas) was Tech's top finisher in 56th place with a three-round 228. Senior Jamie Vannoy (Sandy, Ore.) finished two strokes back in 65th place, while Jennifer Newhouse (Bryan, Texas) and Melanie Hunt (Phoenix, Ariz.) both finished in an 81stplace tie. Priscillia Hunt clased out her season in 85th place.
Arizona State's Miriam Nagl won the individual title with a 7-under par 209.
