Owens Continues Board Assault

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior Cliff Owens (Santa Fe, Texas) led the Big 12 All-Stars (3-0) with six rebounds and scored 12 points in an 87-79 win over Basket Swans Basketball Club in Gmunden, Austria, Sunday afternoon.
Owens' six rebounds marked the second time in three games that the Red Raider forward has led the All-Stars in that category. He is second on the team, averaging 7.0 rebounds per game, and is fifth in scoring at 9.7 points per game. He also is second with a 61.9 field goal percentage.
Iowa State's Jamaal Tinsley led the All-Star team in its third win with 13 points, followed by Owens and Texas A&M's Bernard King with 12 each. Oklahoma's Nolan Johnson and Texas' Chris Owens each scored 11.
The game was the third for the conference All-Star team, which is touring Europe on a six-game swing. The team faces Gunners Basketball Club Tue., Aug. 15, in Oberwart, Austria.
