LUBBOCK, Texas - The Big 12 Conference named Texas Tech quarterback Kliff Kingsbury (New Braunfels, Texas) SBC Big 12 Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week today for his performance against Oklahoma State Saturday.
Kingsbury turned in the second-best outing of his career with 440 yards on 44-of-56 passing and four touchdown strikes. On the season, Kingsbury leads the nation in completions and is sixth nationally in total offense. He also leads the Big 12 in those categories along with passing yards. Kingsbury has 44 career touchdown passes and trails Tech all-time leader Robert Hall, who threw for 48 TDs in his career in the early 90s.
Monday's honor is the second of the season for Kingsbury by the league office. He also was recognized as the offensive player of the week on October 15 for his efforts against Kansas State.
Kingsbury shares this week's honor with running back Cortlen Johnson of Colorado.
