LUBBOCK, Texas - Mickey Michalec has signed a national letter of intent to attend Texas Tech University and compete for the Red Raiders on the hardwood in the fall of 2001.
Michalec (6-11, 275) averaged 19.5 points, 13.2 rebounds and 4.4 blocks per game for Skiatook High School in Tulsa, Okla., last season. He helped lead SHS to the state tournament and earned Tulsa All-Metro honors for his efforts.
