
Men's Tennis Swept by Arizona State

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Arizona State at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe, Ariz., on Thursday.
Red Raider co-captain Royce Ramey suffered an injury, defaulting the singles match to ASU's Matt Klinger. Senior Ben Gudzelak bounced back from a 6-4 loss in the first set to win the second one, 3-6, but was delivered a 6-4 upset in the third by the Sun Devils' Pim Van Mele, 6-4.
In doubles action, Ramey and Alphonso Perez came through with a hard-won match defeating the Sun Devils' Clinton Letcher and Van Mele, 9-7. Senior Richard Crabtree and sophomore Ben Gudzelak could not prevail over ASU's Mitchell Bowen and Klinger as the Tech tandem was ousted, 8-4.
The men's tennis team takes on the Arizona Wildcats today at the La Nelle Robson Tennis Center on the University of Arizona campus.
