Andre Emmett - Selected Big 12 Player of the Week

Lubbock, TX - Texas Tech sophomore Andre Emmett posted two 30-point performances in two Red Raiders' victories last week. The guard scored 30 in the win against Baylor and a career high 33 in the road victory at Colorado. Emmett has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week. For the second straight week, Texas freshman T.J. Ford is the Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week. Ford had two double doubles and averaged 17 points and 11.5 assists. Both honors are voted on by a media panel.
Andre opened the week by making 12-of-16 shots in scoring 30 points in the 90-65 win against Baylor. The Dallas, Texas, guard also pulled down six rebounds in the game and had two blocked shots. In the 97-79 win at Colorado Emmett scored a career-high 33 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to record his third double-double of the season. The game marked the fourth time Emmett has scored 30 points or more this season with three of those in Big 12 play. Emmett leads the league in scoring in conference games with a 22.3 average. He is third in the Big 12 in scoring in all games with a 19.5 average.
