Big 12 releases schedule matrix

LUBBOCK – Eighteen conference matchups for the Texas Tech men's basketball schedule were revealed with the Big 12 announcing its opponent matrix for the 2026-27 season. Each of the 16 basketball programs in the Big 12 has a home-and-home series with three other conference opponents and plays the remaining 12 opponents once - with six home games and six on the road for an 18-game Big 12 schedule. The Red Raiders will play Cincinnati, Houston and UCF twice next season while playing the other 12 conference opponents once in the regular season. Tech will host Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Iowa State, Baylor and West Virginia while traveling to play at Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma and TCU.
Dates, times and television designations will be announced when available. Details on single game and group tickets for home Big 12 games will be released this fall ahead of their on-sale date.
Texas Tech finished last season in a tie for third in the Big 12 standings after going 12-6 in conference play. The Red Raiders advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season under head coach Grant McCasland and experienced a season where they were nationally ranked throughout a season for the first time in program history. Tech went 23-11 overall, advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round and earned four top 10 victories – including going on the road and knocking off then-No. 1 Arizona for the third victory over a top-ranked ranked opponent in program history. McCasland has led Tech to a 38-18 record in conference play and is the winningest head coach in program history through three seasons with a 74-31 overall record.
