LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team will host two pre-conference matches against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Thursday) and the University of Texas at Arlington (Saturday) in preparation for this weekend's conference opening match with Colorado (Sunday). The matches will be held March 14, 16 and 17, respectively, at the McLeod Tennis Center located at 10th and Indiana.
The Red Raiders (6-5) are coming off an impressive showing in the HEB Invitational in Corpus Christi, Texas, finishing fourth out of the 16-team field. Senior co-captain Royce Ramey (Richardson, Texas) bounced back after a frustrating ankle injury suffered earlier in the season. Currently Ramey is ranked 59th by the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings on itatennis.com.
Tech will host TAMU-CC on Thurs., March 14th at 11 a.m. The team will return to action on Sat., March 16th at 11 a.m. when they take on the Mavericks of the UTA. Tech will open its conference schedule at 1 p.m. on Sun., March 17th hosting the Colorado Buffaloes.
The first 50 people at each match will receive free t-shirts, while free pizza will be served at all three matches.
