- Today's 40-point victory margin was the second-worst loss in Big 12 Tournament history and the largest ever in a semifinal game. Texas recorded a 43-point over Colorado in the second round of the 2000 Big 12 Tournament. KU recorded a 91-59 victory over Nebraska in semifinal action of the 1999 Big 12 Tournament.
- Texas Tech recorded season lows in points (50), field goals made (19), field goal percentage (.271), free throws made (6) and free throw percentage (.500). Tech tied season lows in free throw attempts (12) and assists (11).
- Texas Tech's top three scorers entering today's game were a combined 4-of-23 from the field. Ellis and Emmett were both shutout and were a combined 0-of-15. They had combined for 87 points in Tech's 2002 Big 12 tournament wins.
- At the second media timeout (11:49), KU led 25-11 - both teams had attempted 14 field goals. KU had made 11 (.786) while TTU had only made five (.357).
- Texas Tech trailed 51-22 at halftime, which was the largest halftime deficit the Red Raiders faced this season. TTU trailed Oklahoma 50-28 at halftime Jan. 12, 2002. TTU's 22 first-half points was a season low.
- Kansas has held 40 of its last 41 opponents under 50 percent shooting dating back to last season. TTU shot a KU opponent low 27.1 percent (19-of-70) from the field.
- Texas Tech's Chris Cassidy tallied career highs in points, three-point goals made and minutes. He entered today's game with a total of six points this season and had not made a three-pointer this season prior to today's game.
