The Red Raiders travel to Manhattan, Kansas to take on Kansas State for their first conference game of the 2002-2003 season on Saturday, January 11. The game will be carried on the Texas Tech Television Network beginning with a pre-game show hosted by Vinnie Vinzetta and Michael Lewis at 5:30 p.m. The game begins at 6:00 p.m. (CST).
Texas Tech holds down the 23th spot in the latest AP Poll and the 21st spot in the Coaches' Poll.
This marks the twelfth game of the 2002-2003 season for the Red Raiders and the first conference game after concluding the non-conference season with a 10 - 1 record. The Red Raiders traveled to the West Coast for their final non-conference game to face the Aztecs of San Diego State on January 6 and earned a 75 - 63 win on their first-of-five ESPN "Big Monday" games.
Kasib Powell led all scorers with 22 points. Nick Valdez dropped in 21 points and had 4 steals as Andre Emmett added 16 points.
