Texas Tech Men's Tennis Swings Back Into Action

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team is swinging back into action this weekend as they travel to Houston to play Rice on Feb. 2 and Lamar on Feb. 3. Both matches will begin at 11 a.m.
The Red Raiders are coming off of a 14-11 record and being nationally ranked all of last season and preseason No. 56. The team is lead by senior Devin Wakeford (Cape Town, South Africa), who is also the team captain and senior Alfonso Perez (Guadalajara, Mexico). High expectations are also expected from freshman standout Diederik de Groot (Haarlem, Netherlands). This spring the Tech tennis team welcomes two newcomers, Casper Steenkamp (Cape Town, South Africa) and Esat Tanik (Izmir, Turkey).
The Red Raiders open home play Feb. 11 against Abilene Christian at the McLeod Tennis Center.
