No. 50 Men's Golf In Eighth After Two Rounds

LUBBOCK, Texas - In its final tournament of the season, the No. 50 men's golf team is in eighth place after two rounds with a score of 567 at the Nelson Invitational in Stanford, Calif. The team shot 287 in round one, improving seven strokes in round two to head into the final day of play ten strokes behind tournament leader No. 10 Washington.
Sophomore Andrew Dresser and freshman Oscar Floren are in a seven way tie for 10th after two rounds. Dresser shot 70 in round one, improving to 69 in round two while Floren shot a 68 today after a day one 71.
Senior Brad Jacobson, tied for 42nd after shooting 144 (73, 71), is followed closely by junior Shaun Melville who with a score of 146 (73,73) is tied for 53rd. Sophomore Erik Stenman rounds out Techs competitors in a tie for 55th and a score of 147 (75,72).
No.25 Duke, No.32 Kansas, Colorado, Southern California and No. 33 Toledo round out the top five teams. No. 49 Colorado State, No. 50 Texas Tech, Hawaii-Hilo and Notre Dame are in the top ten while Stanford, No. 40 Missouri, Florida Southern, UC-Davis and Idaho complete the field.
